GENTEXT/REMARKS/1. Per reference (A), this message announces the results of the FY24 SRB #1 and announces the FY24 SRB #2 call for studies.
2. Approved studies are categorized as Tier I or Tier II. Tier I nominations are those considered appropriate and meet the criteria provided in reference (A). These study nominations will be commenced as soon as possible. Tier II nominations are those found to be appropriate for analysis but cannot be executed with available resources and/or require further development (e.g., refinement of study scope).
3. The following study nominations are Tier I (sponsor in parentheses).
3.a. MUX MALE Next Platform Trade Space (DC Aviation)
3.b. HMLA Modernization 2035: Closing Service Gaps and Bridging to Future Attack/Strike (DC Aviation)
3.c. Capability and Capacity Requirement of the Future Family of Medium Tactical Trucks (DC CD&I)
3.d. VTOL Capacity Throughput Quick Look V2.0 (DC CD&I)
3.e. Pathway Development for Large Language Model Utilization (DC CD&I)

4. The following studies are Tier II:
4.a. FD 2030 Impacts to Capacity and Capability of the Marine Air Control Group (DC CD&I)

4.c. Implications of Force Design on Tactical Combat Casualty Care Training Requirements and Training Systems (CG TECOM)
4.d. Enabling Next-Gen Military Training With 5G: Assessing Wireless Range Training Network Capability Requirements for Enhanced Integration and Interoperability (CG TECOM)
4.e. Enhancing Enlisted Retention via the Career Planner Occupational Field (DC M&RA)

5. The Operations Analysis Directorate (OAD) study lead appointed to oversee each accepted Tier I study will contact the agency POC as provided in the study nomination to prepare for study execution. Those study nominations not listed above were declined for execution. POCs for declined study nominations will be contacted via email. 6. This message also announces the MCSS Call for Studies for the FY24 SRB #2 and solicits nominations for relevant and impactful studies. The nomination period is the date this message is published through 1 August 2024, the deadline for submitting a nomination. Nominations received after the deadline will not be considered until the next SRB. For commands submitting multiple study nominations, each nomination must be ranked to indicate the priorities of the nominating commands. Each study must be sponsored by a senior official (Colonel/O-6, GS-15, or higher). Studies may be cosponsored by multiple commands as applicable.
6.a. Nominations may be submitted at any time; however, pending specific coordination and prioritization, study nominations not received by the 1 August 2024 deadline will be held for review until the following SRB.
6.b. Study nominations related to the Marine Corps' strategic initiatives of Force Design, Talent Management, Training and Education, and Installations and Logistics will be given precedence over all others.
6.c. Study nominations are to be submitted digitally via OAD's website at https:(slash)(slash)www.cdi.marines.mil/OAD/Marine-Corps-Study-System. The submission form is in the section "Submit A Study Nomination." A pop-up confirmation message will confirm that your nomination has been submitted. In order to ensure that your nomination can be processed by the study nomination portal, please follow all instructions related to text box character limitations. An automated email will be sent to the study POCs for any nomination with an error.
