RNC, Trump Campaign, and NVGOP File Ballot Deadline Election Integrity Lawsuit in Nevada

The Republican National Committee, Trump Campaign, and Nevada Republican Party have filed a lawsuit challenging Nevada's acceptance of mail ballots up to four days after Election Day. This is a critical step in our unprecedented election integrity operation to fight for voter confidence and fair elections across the country. RNC Chairman Michael Whatley stated:

"Nevada's ballot receipt deadline clearly violates federal law and undermines election integrity in the state. Ballots received days after Election Day should not be counted -- the RNC and our partners are suing to secure an honest election, support Nevada voters, and oppose unlawful schemes."

Background:

  • Nevada counts mail ballots that are received up to four days after Election Day, including ballots with unreadable postmarks received up to three days after Election Day.
  • This undermines the integrity of our elections and unlawfully extends the election past the federal Election Day mandated by Congress. A victory in Nevada will have major ramifications for future elections in Nevada and across the country.
  • The RNC, Trump Campaign, Nevada Republican Party, and a concerned Nevada voter are challenging this threat to a fair vote count.
  • The RNC is now active in 83 fair election lawsuits in 25 states. Our unprecedented operation is fighting for voter confidence and honest elections across the country.
