Cape May County to Host Tourism Conference

Come to hear where the Tourism industry was in 2021 in Cape May County and what the expectations are for the year ahead. The Cape May County Tourism Conference will take place on May 25 from 10 A.M. to Noon at the Cape May County Administration Building, located at 4 Moore Rd. in Cape May Court House. Tourism Director Diane Wieland will present information from the Department's annual survey of guests, and unique data sets to better understand current travel trends. She will also discuss the County's aggressive marketing campaign into Canada, as this is the first summer that the border has been open between Canada and the United States since 2019.

Speakers at the Cape May County Tourism Conference include Cape May County Commissioner Director Gerald M. Thornton, who is liaison to the Tourism Department, Tourism Director Diane Wieland, and a legislative update from District 1 lawmakers, State Senator Michael Testa, Assemblyman Antwan McClellan, and Assemblyman Erik Simonsen.

"We welcome members of the public, especially individuals in the Tourism industry to come and hear about the extensive efforts that Cape May County has undertaken to create a full recovery in the Tourism industry, which is the leading job creator in the County," said Thornton. "We are proud of the work being done to support our businesses and look forward to a prosperous summer ahead."
