Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to Armenia Shoayb Casoo presented his credentials to President Vahagn Khachaturyan

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of South Africa to Armenia Shoayb Casoo (residence in Kiev) presented his credentials to the President of the Republic Vahagn Khachaturyan.

Congratulating the newly appointed Ambassador on taking office, the President noted. "I am confident that your appointment will give additional charge to the relations between our two countries. I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate you and the people of South Africa in advance on April 27, the 30th anniversary of a very important event for you, Freedom Day.

I wish you and your people success, new achievements, as well as consistency and will in entrenching democratic values and applying the principles of democracy."

Expressing gratitude for the reception and good wishes, Ambassador Casoo said. "I am very excited to be here. I extend my thanks to your government for the warm welcome. I have already had very good meetings with colleagues of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. And I am excited about my appointment and I will invest all my efforts in strengthening the relations between our states."

During the meeting, issues related to ways stimulating cooperation between Armenia and Republic of South Africa in various fields were discussed.

The opportunities of the visa regime simplification between the two countries were touched upon, which will contribute to the development of cooperation in economic, business, tourism and other spheres.

During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on the regional situation and developments. In this context, President Vahagn Khachaturyan reaffirmed Armenia's unequivocal position on achieving stable and lasting peace and building relations with neighbors based on the principles of peaceful coexistence and neighborliness.
