CONGRESSMAN GONZALEZ ANNOUNCES $10.8 MILLION IN FINAL TITLE I ALLOCATIONS FOR SOUTH & CENTRAL TEXAS SCHOOL DISTRICTS

WASHINGTON - Congressman Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15) announced that South and Central Texas school districts in the 15th District of Texas will receive a total of $10,819,459 in Title I funding for Fiscal Year 2022 (FY22). The U.S. Department of Education has released the final formula allocations for these funds to Local Education Agencies (LEA), which were preliminarily announced in March.

Title I funding provides for the expansion and development of educational programs that are fair and equitable for all students. These funds also support opportunities for student and teacher success.

"Education is the foundation of a thriving economy and social mobility," stated Congressman Gonzalez. "As we rebuild from the COVID-19 pandemic, our schools and students need every resource available to succeed. This funding will support our teachers and our students to ensure that they are receiving a quality education."

The following allocations have been provided to LEA's in the 15th District:

· Benavides ISD: $201,962

· Brooks County ISD: $1,309,383

· Falls City ISD: $87,264

· Floresville ISD: $836,908

· Freer ISD: $292,647

· George West ISD: $397,841

· Jim Hogg County ISD: $632,466

· Karnes City ISD: $254,051

· La Vernia ISD: $276,049

· Marion ISD: $175,879

· Mathis ISD: $1,040,944

· Navarro ISD: $173,550

· Nixon-Smiley Consolidated ISD: $363,173

· Poth ISD: $58,238

· Ramirez ISD: $27,739

· Runge ISD: $96,930

· San Diego ISD: $743,050

· Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD: $1,260,158

· Seguin ISD: $2,210,619

· Stockdale ISD: $187,263

· Three Rivers ISD: $193,345

The final allocations differ from the preliminary allocations due to the availability of updated annual collected counts of children in locally operated institutions for neglected or delinquent children, in foster homes, and in families above the Census poverty line that receive assistance under the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program (non-Census formula children data) and to LEA finance data used in the Education Finance Incentive Grants formula. There may be additional differences if a State were to report revisions to its State Per-Pupil Expenditure (SPPE) data.

Congressman Gonzalez continues to be an advocate for every child in the 15th District of Texas and will work to bring additional funding to schools across South Texas.
