Intercultural Trends on air !

UNIMED and the Anna Lindh Foundation are organizing a new series of events dedicated to intercultural trends in the Mediterranean region, initiated in 2019. The imminent launch of the new edition of the Anna Lindh report is the occasion to share among the UNIMED community the main results of this unique opinion survey and discuss significant issues for the Mediterranean as, among others, gender, media and cultural diversity.

The first event took place in the framework of three UNIMED subnetworks : mobility and intercultural dialogue, journalismand migration with the aim to create bridges and encourage dialogue from different perspectives.

This event has been moderated by Professor Artur Cristóvão, University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro (Portugal) and member of UNIMED SubNetwork on Mobility and Intercultural Dialogue. Marcello Scalisi, UNIMED Director opened the event and Eleonora Insalaco, Head of Operations and Intercultural Research, presented the report and the key findings. Then, Lurdes Vidal, Director of the Arab and Mediterranean Department, European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed), Shadi Abu-Ayyash,Dean of the Media College, Al-Quds Open University (Palestine) and member of the UNIMED SubNetwork on Journalism, Jelnar Ahmad, Germany-based Syrian consultant, Research and M&E Manager, IMPACT-CSRD discussed as panelists.

The final debate and the wealthy exchanges between speakers and audience showed the need to create more opportunities to discuss topics so important for our Mediterranean region.
