Hoyer Statement on Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month
WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) released the following statement today in recognition of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander Heritage Month:
"This month, we honor the many contributions that Americans of Asian, Hawaiian, and Pacific descent have made to our nation's culture, economy, and democracy throughout its history. From the arts to athletics, science to business, politics to the military, Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders have had a tremendous positive impact in every field and on every element of American life. I am proud to work with my colleagues in the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC) to address the most pressing issues facing the AANHPI community today - whether it's creating new economic opportunities for working families or rejecting hate and racism in all its forms. Guided by their heritage and history, CAPAC and Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders everywhere continue to play a central role in building an America that is more just, more equal, and more committed to its mission of opportunity for all."
