- The No. 25 Northern State University wrestling team fell to No. 15 Upper Iowa on Sunday evening, 30-6. The Wolves wrap up the regular season with a 6-5 record overall and 3-5 mark in the Northern Sun. No. 7 tallied the first victory for the Wolves, defeating Ryan Steffen in a 9-6 decision at 149-pounds. Moore scored first, notching a takedown in each of the first two periods, and two in the third. The freshman also grabbed an escape in the second.
followed up Moore's win with a decision victory of his own. The Wolves 157-pounder defeated Tucker Black in a 5-3 decision. The two were scoreless through the first period, adding just one point apiece in the second. Black broke the tie with an escape to open the third, however Carr rattled off two takedowns for the win. Northern State returns to the mat in two weeks from the NCAA Super Region Tournament in Moorhead. Competition opens at 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 23 from the Nemzek Fieldhouse on the campus of MSU Moorhead.
