City of Harrisburg Launches Online Mapping Tool for Reporting Potholes

HARRISBURG- Harrisburg Public Works crews have been filling potholes throughout the City, and a new reporting tool is now available for residents to report street locations that are in need of patching.

'I appreciate the ongoing efforts of our Public Works crews in addressing these needed road repairs,' said Mayor Eric Papenfuse. 'This new tool developed by our IT team will make it easier for residents to notify the City about potholes in their neighborhoods.'

Residents are encouraged to report potholes on City streets online at harrisburgpa.gov/potholes. The mapping tool uses GIS technology to support efforts and strategies in addressing the issues. On the form, the public can enter the nearest address, details, as well as their contact information.

'As weather conditions allow, we are using hot asphalt to patch up the roads throughout the City,' said Dave West, Director of Public Works. 'I encourage residents to use this new tool to alert us on locations that need addressed.'

In 2020, the City of Harrisburg launched a similar online method for residents to report the illegal use of fireworks. This is available at harrisburgpa.gov/fireworks.

For those that preferto report issues via phone, the non-emergency City Help Desk can be reached at 3-1-1 or 717-255-3040, Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
