Belgium keep comeback hopes alive against Bolivia

Sander Gille and Joran Vliegen defeated Boria Arias and Federico Zeballos 6-3 6-4 to keep Belgium's hopes alive of a comeback from 0-2 down against Bolivia.

The Belgian doubles duo notched the visiting team's first point of the tie, which is being contested at the Rakiura Resort in Asuncion, Paraguay.

Belgium went into the final day knowing that they had to win all three points after the Dellien brothers, Hugo and Murkel, had done the damage on day one with victories in singles over Ruben Bemelmans and Zizou Bergs.

Captain Johan van Herck made a switch for the first reverse singles match, bringing in another debutant, Michael Geerts, to take on Bolivian No. 1 Hugo Dellien in the fourth match.

If Bolivia win the tie, they will compete in November's World Group I Knock-outs, from which stage they can advance to next year's Davis Cup Qualifiers (the entry round for the Davis Cup Finals).

If Belgium win today, they will be guaranteed a place in the Davis Cup Qualifiers owing to their ranking. The losing team will compete in a World Group I play-off next February.
