Day in the Life of Representative Fritts

As a State Representative, it is my job to spend time in Springfield and in the district I have the honor of representing. Each day in this role is different and presents new opportunities to meet with constituents and learn more about the industries, organizations, and individuals who make our community strong.

In the spirit of transparency and accountability, I want to share an inside look at what a typical day looks like while at home in District 74.

7:30 AM to 9:00 AM - Morning on the Farm

As a fifth-generation family farmer, most of my days begin at the farm. Working as a farmer in Illinois is an honor and I plan to continue bringing my experience to Springfield by crafting pro-agriculture legislation.

9:30 AM to 10:30 AM - Tour the Dixon Police Department

I had the chance to stop by the Dixon Police Department for a tour of their facility and learn more about the challenges they face. Thank you to all the officers who took time out of their busy schedules to speak with me!

10:30 AM to 12:00 PM - Tour the Dixon Fire Department

After touring the Police Department, I stopped at the Dixon City Fire Department. I was able to see their facilities and speak with the brave firefighters on duty about their jobs and how I can assist them.

12:30 PM to 1:30 PM - Speak with Constituents

Later in the day, I met with constituents in my district office to listen to their concerns and answer their questions.

2:00 PM to 3:00 PM - Tour the Regional Office of Education

My next stop was at the new Regional Office of Education #47 building in Sterling to speak with educators about their programs to teach students of all ages.

3:30 PM to 5:00 PM - Tour of Rochelle Foods

My final stop of the day was at Rochelle Foods, which is one of the largest employers in the 74th District with over 800 employees. I was able to speak with staff members and tour their incredible facility!
