FREE KN95 MASK INFO:

***Oregon Department of Agriculture is providing a limited supply of KN95 NIOSH approved masks for agriculture workers who are having to work out in the smoke at this time (and for COVID protection). The masks that were distributed previously are a looser fit design and may not be as effective for smoke as NIOSH certified masks. Currently there is a limited supply of masks being distributed by County Extension offices who are in impacted areas (so not all counties). The best way for people to find out if there are any available is to call their County Extension office. Some counties have distributed to partner organizations already.***

Lane County: The Lane County Extension main line (541) 344-5859 . While the office is closed, they will arrange a pick up time with you. Please leave the number of farm workers, the time frames you could come by (before 5pm), and your phone number.

Linn County: Please contact[email protected]

Benton County: Call the main Benton County Extension Office: 541-713-5011.

If possible, reduce outdoor physical activity during work. If you need to work outdoors, wear a mask that filters at least 95% of airborne particles (N95/KN95 masks). Cloth masks will not offer adequate protection. A tight fit is important for protection from smoke and particulates. Facial hair can interfere with effectiveness. Even after the smoke lifts this level of protection is required as ash and particulates will remain.
