(Lawrenceville, Ga., Oct. 10, 2017) - Can you even begin to imagine a day without water? On a personal level, we all depend on water for everything from teeth brushing and toilet flushing to cleaning and bathing. And the need for water continues even after we leave our homes for work or school.
Water is also essential to a functioning economy. An economic study released by the Value of Water Campaign earlier this year found that a single, nationwide day without water service would put $43.5 billion of economic activity at risk.
'Water is our most precious resource-it is essential to everything we do,' said Tyler Richards, assistant director for the Department of Water Resources. 'Our staff works around the clock to manage, protect and conserve our water resources. In recognition of the 'Imagine a Day without Water' awareness campaign, we invite Gwinnett County residents to join us at several upcoming events to learn more about what DWR does, and how they can help protect and conserve our water resources.'
