Colleagues from Orkla Foods International were cheered when they entered the stage to receive the most prestigious prize during Orkla Growth Awards on May 22nd.
The Growth Prize is a recognition of the fantastic development in Felix Austria, MTR India and Orkla Foods Cescko a Slovensko - former Hamé and Vitana.
Orkla Chairman Stein Erik Hagen presented the Growth Prize on behalf of the jury, justifying the decision as follows:
'The winner of the Orkla Growth Prize has demonstrated the ability to create strong top and bottom-line growth over the last STP-period. With strong local brands, they have stolen market shares from global players such as Heinz. They have shown agility to seize business opportunities and a positive approach to extend the Orkla portfolio into new markets and capitalize on a more value-creating production structure. And they have initiated bold One-Orkla initiatives, such as introducing Möller's and Laban in their respective markets, and several cross-production initiatives are on-going. In 2018, the top-line growth in this business area amounted to 5 % with a bottom-line growth of an impressive 9 %.
For the first time this year separate juries had been appointed to each category.
- We wanted to try this unlike earlier when one jury has evaluated all entries in all categories, and it turned out to be a success. Separate juries secured a breadth of experience into the category themes and a broader geographic reach, says Mirjam Hamnen, responsible for the Orkla Growth Awards together with Arve Heltne.
Mirjam, Arve og Silje G. Johannesen have secured an overview across all categories, while representatives from Corporate Management were divided into the different categories together with experts from the companies.
We congratulate Orkla Foods International with amazing achievements and a well deserved Growth Prize. We also congratulate the eight category winners who have gone all the way to the top in tough competition with lot of great nominations this year.

ORKLA GROWTH AWARDS
The Orkla Growth Awards were held for the 19th time this year. From a total of more than 200 nominations in eight categories, 41 finalists were chosen. The jury behind the Growth Prize has consisted of Silje G. Johannesen, Mirjam Hamnen, Arve Heltne (chariman), Jens Staff, Karl Otto Tveter and Lars Fretheim.
