New Smart, Solar, and Secure Trash Bins

The City of Coos Bay has purchased four Big Belly trash cans and will be deploying them at select locations in both the downtown and Empire areas. The Big Belly trash cans are self-compacting, "Smart" trash cans, that will communicate with staff when they need to be emptied. The trash cans are solar powered and will feature both a foot pedal and handle to open the receptacle door. The units are fully enclosed and are lockable. Therefore, they are weather and vandal proof and will eliminate the removal of trash by unauthorized persons.
