Disposition Services partnerships through innovation
The Defense Logistics Agency's mission is to provide effective and efficient worldwide support to warfighters and its customers. Part of maintaining maximum efficiency is partnering with outside agencies and companies to foster innovation.
DLA Disposition Services leadership takes part in a virtual meeting at the Hart-Dole-Inouye Federal Center in Battle Creek, Michigan.

DLA Disposition Services is engaging with industry partners on a national level.
Collider Day was one of the ways DLA Disposition Services connected with industry partners by fostering innovation and educating partners about DLA Disposition Services and opportunities for collaboration.
"I explained DLA Disposition Services and what we do," said Operations Deputy Director Nate Barnes. "Additionally, I shared that we have several challenges on the horizon for the organization and that we look forward to partnering with industry to either develop innovative solutions - or leverage commercially available solutions to solve those problems."
Through this event attendees met DLA subject matter experts and learned more about the partnership opportunities the agency can provide.
"We had discussions on tires, precious metals, strategic materials and battery recycling," Barnes said. "I believe this event opened the door for more robust interactions with industry and academia on how we can work together."
The Collider Day was a recent example of how DLA is consistently looking to join with outside entities for new and improved ways to support the warfighter.
Another avenue is the upcoming Industry Engagement Days event allowing DLA to further collaborate with new partners. The event is scheduled to take place November 2 - 3, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:40 p.m., at the Hart-Dole-Inouye Federal Center in Battle Creek, Michigan. To register, companies should send an email to [email protected] by October 7, 2022.
During this event, industry partners will hear from DLA Disposition Services representatives on topics related to small business, operational contracting, hazardous waste disposal and public sales contracting.
