Phone Call with President Saied of Tunisia

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke by phone with President Kais Saied of Tunisia.

The call addressed the developments in Tunisia, the bilateral relations between Turkey and Tunisia, and regional issues.

President Erdoğan said it was of crucial importance that Tunisia preserved its stability as well as domestic peace and tranquility in terms of regional welfare, and that Turkey, in that regard, closely followed the developments occurring in Tunisia.

Voicing his belief that Tunisia would overcome those difficult times and continue to move forward on its path in a much stronger manner, President Erdoğan underscored that it was of importance in terms of both Tunisia and regional democracy that the Tunisian Parliament, the source of inspiration for democratic transition in the region, continued its works against all odds.

Further stressing that it was of crucial importance that the Tunisian Parliament maintained its activities as a platform for producing solutions to problems, healthy discussion and dialogue, President Erdoğan drew attention to the significance of protecting the democracy, ensuring the freedoms and defending the rule of law in Tunisia.
