Little Bighorn Battlefield 146th Anniversary 2022

This weekend, Little Bighorn Battlefield will remember and honor the 146th anniversary of The Battle of the Little Bighorn. There will special programs presented by various associated tribes and partners. Program times may vary. The programs will be presented as follows:

Friday, June 24
Park hours: 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friends of the Little Bighorn volunteer interpreters provide information at Deep Ravine and Keogh Trails, Last Stand Hill, Indian Memorial, and Reno-Benteen Battlefield.

Saturday, June 25
146th Battle Anniversary
Entrance Fee Free Day
Park hours: 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

5:30 a.m. Peace through Unity, Sunrise Prayer for World Peace-Bilford Curley, Ben Nighthorse Campbell and other society members of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe of the Northern Cheyenne Indian Reservation. Followed by refreshments at the Visitor Center.

7 a.m. Park Open to General Public

8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friends of the Little Bighorn volunteer interpreters at Deep Ravine and Keogh Trails, Last Stand Hill, Indian Memorial, and Reno-Benteen Battlefield

9 a.m. Bighorn Riders Attack at Dawn - Wendell Yellow Bull

10:00 a.m Descendants of the First Tokala's of the Great Lakota nation at the Peji Sla Creek Battle (Battle of the Little Bighorn) - Steve Leader Charge, Rosebud Sioux Tribe of the Rosebud Indian Reservation.

10.30 a.m. - Philmon Two Eagle, Claude Two Elk, and Russell Eagle Bear, Sicangu Lakota, Rosebud Sioux Tribe of the Rosebud Indian Reservation

11:00a.m. - Arikara History of the Greasy Grass Battle, Loren Yellow Bird, Three Affiliated Tribes of North Dakota

11:30 a.m. - Crazy Horse, Elvyn (Doug) Bissonette, Oglala Sioux Tribe of the Pine Ridge Reservation, Hunkpatila Oyate Band

12 Noon Lunch Served at Visitor Center Patio

9:30-10:00 Re-enactment horse riders from the U.S. Cavalry School ride from Medicine Tail Coulee area to participate in events at Last Stand Hill

10 a.m. Wreath-laying at Last Stand Hill with Custer Battlefield Historical and Museum Association

11 a.m. Custer Battlefield Historical and Museum Association (CBHMA) membership meeting, in front of White Swan Memorial Library

12 noon CBHMA Board Meeting Administration Building
