90% of 16-29-year-olds felt healthy in 2022

In the EU, 90.1% of young people aged between 16 and 29 perceived themselves to be in good or very good health in 2022.

The EU countries with the highest shares of young people who perceived themselves to be in good or very good health were Romania (98.0%), Greece (97.4%), and Bulgaria (97.1%).

The lowest shares were recorded in Denmark (71.1%), Sweden (75.3%), and Finland (82.3%).

Rate of young women with a disability (activity limitation) higher than men

In 2022, the share of young women aged between 16 to 29 years old who had moderate disability (activity limitation) was 8.5%, 2 percentage points higher than men (6.5%).

Both genders had a rise in the share of moderate disability from the previous year, when the figures were 6.7% for younger women and 5.8% for younger men in 2021.

When it comes to severe disability, the prevalence for both men and women was 2% in 2022.
