DES MOINES - Democrats Theresa Greenfield, Eddie Mauro and Kimberly Graham have been in the race for U.S. Senate for weeks and almost months now, but they have yet to hold a public town hall to discuss the issues facing Iowans or even offer an issues section on their websites. Today, the Republican Party of Iowa launched DodgingDemocrats.comto hold these Democrats accountable and keep track of how many days it has been since they have held public town halls.
Here in Iowa, folks expect candidates to hold town halls and answer the tough questions from voters and the press. Senator Joni Ernst holds town halls all across the state to ensure she hears from all Iowans. However, in sharp contrast, these Democratic candidates are too busy filling their campaign coffers at fundraisersand have been avoiding town hall meetings. It begs the question: What are Greenfield, Mauro and Graham hiding from Iowans? Who are they beholden to?
A small glimpse into their campaigns reminds Iowans that this primary is a race to represent liberal coastal elite values. Look no further than Eddie Mauro who has already made major gaffes out of the gate stating those who have served in the military don't have the 'right kind of courage' to serve in Congress, and arguing'there is no date that would be too late' to perform an abortion. Meanwhile, Greenfield has enjoyed the endorsement of extreme coastal elite groups like EMILY's List, who supports partial birth abortion.
'Joni Ernst has been traveling across the state, visiting all 99 counties every year. She'll have held a public event in every county by the end of her first term,' said Jeff Kaufmann, Chairman of the Republican Party of Iowa. 'While Joni Ernst has made listening to Iowans and taking their concerns to Washington a priority, Theresa Greenfield, Eddie Mauro and Kimberly Graham have proven they don't care what Iowans think - they would rather hunker down with the far-left Democrats like Nancy Pelosi and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez as they plot their socialist takeover of America.'
