Washington usually shuts down for August. Not the Reliable Source.

While the president and Congress flee Washington during August, the National Press Club's Reliable Source restaurant remains open for lunch weekdays from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Menu items include salmon, New York steak, burgers, salads and crab cakes. To view the menu, click here.

Dinner will be served from 4:30-8 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays. Takeout meals are available from 11:30-7:30 Monday through Friday,

The only thing missing from the menu is the luncheon buffet, which has been put on hold due to the coronavirus, Reliable Source Manager Mesfin Mekonen said he may be able to reopen the buffet in 2023,
