Saint George the Victorious and Kholki Monastery: new coins of Bank of Russia

On 29 June 2022, the Bank of Russia issues the following coins:

- an investment gold 100-ruble coin 'Saint George the Victorious' (Catalogue No. 5217-0048);

- a commemorative silver 3-ruble coin 'The Holy Trinity Kholki Monastery, Belgorod Region' of the Architectural Monuments of Russia series (catalogue No. 5111-0465).

The investment gold 100-ruble coin (fine metal content 15.55 g, fineness 999/1,000) has a round shape and is 30.0 mm in diameter.

The obverse and the reverse of the coin have a relief rim along the circumference.

The obverse of the coin bears a relief image of the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation and the inscriptions: 'РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ' (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), 'БАНК РОССИИ' (BANK OF RUSSIA), the coin denomination: '100 РУБЛЕЙ' (100 RUBLES), the year of issue: '2022 г.' (2022), the chemical symbol of the metal according to Mendeleev's Periodic Table of Elements, fineness, a mint trademark, and fine metal content.

The reverse of the coin features a relief image of Saint George the Victorious on horseback killing a dragon with a spear.

The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The coin is minted in uncirculated quality.

The mintage of the coin is up to 300.0 thousand pcs.

The commemorative silver 3-ruble coin (fine metal content 31.1 g, fineness 925/1,000) has a round shape and is 39.0 mm in diameter.

The obverse and the reverse of the coin have a relief rim along the circumference.

The obverse of the coin bears a relief image of the National Coat of Arms of the Russian Federation and the inscriptions: 'РОССИЙСКАЯ ФЕДЕРАЦИЯ' (RUSSIAN FEDERATION), 'БАНК РОССИИ' (BANK OF RUSSIA), the coin denomination: '3 РУБЛЯ' (3 RUBLES), the year of issue: '2022 г.' (2022), the chemical symbol of the metal according to Mendeleev's Periodic Table of Elements, fineness, the St. Petersburg Mint trademark, and fine metal content.

The reverse of the coin features a relief image of the Kholki Monastery and the inscription: 'СВЯТО-ТРОИЦКИЙ ХОЛКОВСКИЙ МОНАСТЫРЬ БЕЛГОРОДСКАЯ ОБЛАСТЬ' (THE HOLY TRINITY KHOLKI MONASTERY, BELGOROD REGION) along the upper circumference against a stylised relief background, the pattern of which is reminiscent of the chalk walls of the Kholki caves.

The edge of the coin is corrugated.

The coin is minted in proof quality.

The mintage of the coin is 3.0 thousand pcs.

The new coins are legal tender of the Russian Federation and are mandatory for acceptance for all kinds of payments without any restrictions at their face value.
