Councilman Courage and Council Approve San Antonio 2022 Budget; Substantial District 9 Projects Funded

SAN ANTONIO (Sep. 16th, 2021) - The budget, adopted by the City Council today, is the result of months of public input, discussion, compromise, and skillful fiscal management. The budget increases funding for core city services, such as public safety, infrastructure, parks, and community cleanup.

'I'm extremely pleased with the adopted 2022 budget. Despite the financial challenges that COVID has brought cities across the nation, we were able to persevere and continue improving the quality of life here in San Antonio. District 9 has secured continued operations and maintenance funding for the state-of-the-art senior center and Classen-Steubing Park, both opening in 2022, and infrastructure improvements. We have been able to fund many community priorities and increase service levels without a tax rate increase. Although it didn't garner enough support this year, I remain committed to building upon the homestead exemption I sponsored in 2019 to provide meaningful tax relief to homeowners.'- Councilman John Courage, District 9

• Blossom Park Loop Trail
• Panther Springs trailhead and dog park security lighting
• Gold Canyon Park Walking Trail Improvements
• Stonehaven Sidewalks
• HVAC upgrades to Brookhollow Library
• Henderson Pass Repaving
• W. Bitters Repaving
• Jones Maltsberger Repaving

District 9 also has roughly 266 improvement projects funded through the FY 2022 IMP.
