Storm Water Team Hosting Ropes Park Clean-Up for Community

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - The City of Corpus Christi Storm Water Division invites the community to participate in a clean-up event at Ropes Park located at 3502 Ocean Drive. The event will take place on Saturday, September 25, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Storm water is water runoff from storms that flows over paved surfaces and into storm water drains. Storm water often collects materials, such as littler, as it flows into the drains. Community clean-up events help to minimize the amount of litter that can be collected by the flow of storm water.

Water, gloves, trash bags, and sand sifters will be provided to volunteers who pre-register for the event. Since 2017, this program has removed over 700 pounds of trash from the park.

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and will be asked to sign a waiver certifying the participant is medically able to assist upon arrival. You can sign up by contacting our team at (361) 826-1863 or by email at [email protected].

Media representatives needing additional information may contact Makensie Oubre, Sr. Public Information Officer at (361) 826-3420 or by email at [email protected].
