Press Conference on “Forever is Now”, 2021 Contemporary Art Exhibition at the Pyramids Field, World Heritage site by Art’Egypte (Cairo, 29 October 2020)

Press Conference was hosted at the Egyptian National Commission for UNESCO on 29 October 2020 with the support of the UNESCO Office. A representative of Art D'Egypte presented the outline of 2021 Contemporary Art Exhibition 'Forever is Now' to the media. Senior officials at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities (MoTA) attended the Conference, presenting their support to the project.

The contemporary art exhibition 'Forever is Now' took place from 23 October to mid-November 2021 at the Pyramids Field. Abdel Ghaffar, the founder of Art D'Egypte is working with independent curator Simon Watson to select the artists for the exhibition And the Egyptian archaeologist Zahi Hawass to plot the trail linking the exhibits around the 4500-year-old heritage at the Giza Plateau. The exhibition showed case of the power of arts and creativity at the Pyramids field, one of the seven World Heritage sites in Egypt.

Educational workshops and activities also organized in cooperation with UNESCO. The exhibition presented how heritage, arts, and creativity can contribute to the creative economy, demonstrate the cross-cutting role of culture to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The activity provided equal capacity building and learning opportunities for men and women for promoting heritage, arts, and culture.
