District 4 Public Safety Community Engagement Meeting Discusses Next Steps of Dallas 365 Safe Project

DALLAS - The community and leaders are reeling from a weekend of violence in Council District 4. In one shooting incident a man was killed, and two teens were injured. In another shooting in the area, a 30-year-old woman was killed.

"We are aware of the increase in homicides and deaths, with a particular focus of the juveniles, young adults, and gun activity," said Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Carolyn King Arnold. "Every loss of life affects families, neighborhoods, and the city. We offer our sincere condolences to each of the families affected by the violence."

In response to the violent and deadly activity, Councilwoman Arnold said the next steps of the Dallas 365 Safe Project will be multifaceted with the inclusion of public safety partners, elected officials, community partners and the community. A District 4 Public Safety Community Engagement Meeting will be at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, April 18, at Paul L. Dunbar Library, 2008 E. Kiest Blvd., Dallas TX 75216

"We acknowledge the fact that underlying social challenges will be acerbated by the upcoming summer and holiday season, but as a community we can come together and overcome the violence that is affecting our district," Councilwoman Arnold added.
