'Today we have completed the all-army competition for field training of tank and motorized rifle units. The first international Army Games held seven years ago, as a form of improving the combat training of the Armed Forces, became one of the most striking and large-scale military sports events, and aroused great interest not only in Russia, but also abroad. According to the intensity of passions, our army competitions are no different from the world's largest sports championships. Here, in the Chelyabinsk region, the audience saw a high-class command of modern military equipment, the coordinated action of tank and motorized rifle crews, the ability to quickly make a competent decision in a difficult situation, ' said Colonel-General Alexander Lapin, Commander of the Central Military District troops, at the award ceremony.

The all-army stage of the Tank Biathlon started on May 17. The best tank platoons of the Western, Southern, Central and Eastern Military Districts, Airborne troops, Kazan Higher Tank Command School, Moscow and Far Eastern Higher Combined Arms Command schools participated in the competitions. Due to the hot weather in the Urals, the servicemen met the standards at an air temperature of 30 degrees above zero, the temperature in the tank reached +50 degrees Celsius.

The goal of the teams was to overcome the route with natural and artificial obstacles. The track at the training ground in the Chelyabinsk region is equipped with start and finish lines, a section of straight-line traffic, obstacles (ford, mound, fire lane, anti-tank ditch with passage, etc.), penalty time lines, three shooting areas, two penalty circles of 500 meters, conditionally infected terrain, areas of compliance with standards for technical, engineering, medical training, NBC protection. Before the start of the final race, the IL-76 military transport plane dropped about 40 tons of water on the track. This is necessary in order to reduce the dustiness of the route.

Based on the results of the competition, the judges will determine the composition of the tank team that will represent the Russian Armed Forces at the international stage of the competition.
