Competing in its final season in Division II before joining Division I's ASUN Conference, Bellarmine boasts a 27-game regular-season slate, including 16 home games. The Knights will play 20 Great Lakes Valley Conference contests, divided evenly between home and away matchups. Bellarmine will face Southern Indiana, Indianapolis, Lewis, McKendree and Illinois Springfield twice and the rest of the teams in the league once.
Bellarmine will also host two invitationals following a 17-12 campaign in which they advanced to the GLVC Tournament finals. The first invitational in Knights Hall, the Midwest Region Crossover, triggers the start of the year. Bellarmine will make its season debut Nov. 8 by hosting Ohio Dominican before welcoming Cedarville on Nov. 9.
Bridging the two home invitationals is a road outing Nov. 16 at Central State. The Knights will then host Trevecca Nazarene on Nov. 29 and Tampa on Nov. 30 in the Bellarmine Thanksgiving Classic. Tampa earned a berth in the NCAA Tournament last season and won an opening-round game.
Bellarmine opens GLVC play Dec. 3 at Indianapolis before returning home for two nonconference contests. Kentucky State comes to Knights Hall on Dec. 7 and Embry-Riddle on Dec. 18, the latter outing marking Bellarmine's final game in the 2019 portion of the schedule.
The 2020 segment gets under way with a return to GLVC action as Bellarmine hosts Illinois Springfield on Jan. 2 and Lewis on Jan. 4. The Flyers were an NCAA Tournament team last season.
Bellarmine travels to McKendree on Jan. 9 and Southern Indiana on Jan. 11 before hosting Missouri-St. Louis on Jan. 16 and heading to new GLVC member Lindenwood on Jan. 18. McKendree and USI made the GLVC Tournament last season.
Bellarmine follows with three home games. The Knights host Indianapolis on Jan. 20, new league member Southwest Baptist on Jan. 23 and reigning GLVC Tournament and regular-season champion Drury on Jan. 25. The Panthers made a Final Four run last year.
Bellarmine will then enter a lengthy road stretch. The Knights play at Illinois Springfield on Jan. 30, at Lewis on Feb. 1, at William Jewell on Feb. 6 and at Rockhurst on Feb. 8. William Jewell gained a GLVC Tournament bid last season.
In what will undoubtedly be a much-awaited return to Knights Hall, Bellarmine will welcome Truman State, an NCAA Tournament team last season, on Feb. 13 and Quincy on Feb. 15. The Knights hit the road again for contests at Missouri S&T on Feb. 20 and GLVC Tournament team Maryville on Feb. 22 before wrapping up the regular season at home against Southern Indiana on Feb. 27 and McKendree on Feb. 29, the latter of which represents Senior Day.
With the schedule now complete, season ticket information will go out to existing season ticket holders next week and renewals can begin upon receipt of that information.
