Estonia and the Netherlands celebrate a hundred years of diplomatic relations

On 5 March 1921, the Netherlands recognised the Republic of Estonia de jure, which laid the basis for formal diplomatic contacts.

Today, Estonia and the Netherlands have good relations and a shared understanding of European values. Both countries contribute to global security, enjoy close defence, cyber and IT cooperation, and are partners in both NATO and the European Union.

Today 5 March, Foreign Minister Eva-Maria Liimets will meet Özlem Canel, the Dutch Ambassador to Estonia.

On Monday 8 March, Minister Liimets will have a phone conversation with Dutch Foreign Minister Stef Blok.
