Pilots of MiG-31BM ultrasonic interceptors from the fighter air regiment of the Central Military District (CMD) have practiced interception and simulated elimination of the mock enemy's targets launched by high-precision armament within training flights in Perm region.
The exercise involved Gamma and Terek radars and supposed detecting and tracking simulated targets. MiG-31BM crews received data about the targets that simulated long-range cruise missiles. In addition, MiG-31BM crews practiced detection and simulated elimination of the cruise missiles using Zaslon-M radars at a range of about 250 kilometres.
The training flights have involved three MiG-31BM interceptor fighters and about 100 servicemen from flight crews, radar combat crews, engineering personnel, as well as from flight control and support group.
