President Erdoğan inaugurates Salarha Tunnel in Rize

Delivering remarks at the opening ceremony of Salarha Tunnel in Rize, President Erdoğan said: 'May the nearly 3-kilometer-long Salarha Tunnel, which will ease the inner city traffic in Rize and and shorten the travel time across the mountain, be auspicious for you and our country!'

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan delivered remarks at the opening ceremony of Salarha Tunnel in Rize.

President Erdoğan said: 'May the nearly 3-kilometer-long Salarha Tunnel, which will ease the inner city traffic in Rize and and shorten the travel time across the mountain, be auspicious for you and our country!'

'FOLLOWING THE OPENING OF RIZE-ARTVIN AIRPORT, THE TRAFFIC WILL GROW HEAVIER IN THE REGION'

Noting that the Eastern Black Sea Region continued to grow more attractive with its developing trade, tourism, industry and universities, which made the traffic in the region heavier, President Erdoğan said: 'The İyidere-İkizdere road and Hurmalik tunnels, which we inaugurated yesterday after the Ovit Tunnel, will further increase the regional traffic towards the Caucasus and to the South. Following the opening of İyidere logistics port and Rize-Artvin Airport, the traffic will grow heavier in the region. With the Salarha Tunnel, we are diverting a significant portion of this traffic out of the city via beltways.'

Underlining that the Salarha Tunnel was a 70-year-old dream of Rize, President Erdoğan thanked all who contributed to the project.
