AviaAM Leasing, a global aviation holding company engaged in tailored aircraft leasing and trading services, has announced the delivery of the company's first 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter to the lessee - Icelandic air cargo transportation company Bluebird Nordic.
The 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter underwent the P2F conversion works at the Taikoo (Shandong) Aircraft Engineering Company Limited (STAECO) facility in Jinan (TNA), China. A subsequent C Check and a repaint of the airframe to match the future lessee's livery were performed at Kaunas, Lithuania.
When looking at the post-pandemic era, airlines and lessors are now more than ever focused on efficient cost management and best-possible turn-around-times (TAT). These are fast becoming the key criteria when delivering aircraft in transition, and the main reason behind why Kaunas International Airport (Lithuania) was chosen for this particular project. The airport boasts unique infrastructure along with being the location of FL Technics, a global independent MRO service provider, and MAAS Aviation, world-renowned experts in aircraft painting. Both companies share adjacent purpose-built facilities for one-stop-shop aircraft transition services. Such a setup creates unprecedented flexibility and efficiency in terms of planning, scheduling, and delivery, while covering all required services, including; technical maintenance, engineering and design, along with its aircraft painting capacity - all of which is located in one convenient setting.
The 737-800BCF has already joined the fleet of Bluebird Nordic, an expanding Icelandic air cargo transportation company. As both companies are part of Avia Solutions Group, the synergy between AviaAM Leasing and Bluebird Nordic made it possible for the aircraft to reach the client in record time, while receiving the same high-quality service that customers of AviaAM Leasing are accustomed to.
"The delivery of the first 737-800 Boeing Converted Freighter is a significant achievement for the company committed to expanding its presence in the air cargo market over the coming years." - notes Tadas Goberis, the CEO and Chairman at AviaAM Leasing.
