APTA Highlighted for Leadership in Coronavirus Response

APTA has been included in a list of associations that are rising to the challenges of 2020.

APTA has been named to a national list of '100 Associations That Will Save the World' in recognition of our association's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The list, compiled by the American Society of Association Executives, includes APTA and 18 other associations as leaders in the 'Coronavirus Response' category. In describing its list, ASAE writes, 'This year has proven that we can't always predict what problems maty arise,' adding that 'these 100 associations, and many others, are up to the challenge.'

As an example of the APTA's work, ASAE cites an association project that linked PTs and PTAs interested in COVID-19-related health care volunteer opportunities with facilities in need in the early stages of the pandemic.

The volunteer project was part of an all-out push by APTA to keep its members informed, offer crucial guidance, and provide opportunities to make a difference. APTA's Coronavirus Resources for the Physical Therapy Profession webpage features these resources and is continually updated.

'The pandemic has challenged everyone to shift focus, be responsive, and work together for the greater good,' said APTA CEO Justin Moore, PT, DPT. 'Our success is due to the engagement of our members and the support of our components. This acknowledgment from ASAE is a tribute to our profession's commitment to improve the health of society.'
