At the 'Bijan' training ground in the Jewish Autonomous Region (JAR), a tactical exercise began with motorized rifle units of the Eastern Military District (EMD) to organize maneuver defense.
Military personnel fulfill the standards for engineering equipment of defensive lines and reserve positions, using the features of the terrain.
During the practical part of the exercise, tasks will be worked out for conducting mobile defense, preparing maneuvers taking into account the constantly changing situation in order to inflict maximum losses to the mock enemy.
In addition, the military personnel will have to improve their skills of interaction with the crews of self-propelled artillery units that provide fire support to motorized rifle units when they move away from the contact line with a mock enemy and move to a counterattack.
Special attention will be paid to the organization of stable and continuous communication with the active use of conventional enemy electronic warfare.
More than 600 people and about 200 units of military equipment were involved in the exercise. The live firing stage will take place at the end of this week.
