President Varela receives credentials from the Ambassadress of the interim President of Venezuela, Juan Guaidó

The President of the Republic, Juan Carlos Varela, received in the Palace of Las Garzas Fabiola Zavarce, new Ambassadress of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, appointed by the President in charge of this country, Juan Guaidó, in a symbolic act of delivery of the Credentials Letters that accredit her as the representative of her country before the Republic of Panama.

In the usual protocol ceremony, Zavarce received the corresponding honors in the Presidential Palace, but this time, in the company of hundreds of representatives of the Venezuelan community residing in Panama, who sang with hope and in full voice the notes of the national anthem.

During the private meeting that took place in the Salón Amarillo of the Presidency, President Varela, accompanied by the Minister in charge of Foreign Affairs, Luis Miguel Hincapié, ratified the support for the government of President Guaidó, and reiterated that the Panamanian government will work hand in hand with Ambassadress Zavarce and her team to support the democratic transition in Venezuela, and an early call for free elections, with guarantees and international standards and the equal participation of all political actors.

They also discussed the importance of a common agenda among the more than 50 countries that recognize President Guaidó, to advance the consolidation of his government.

For her part, the Venezuelan Ambassadress thanked the government of Panama and the Panamanian people 'for accompanying the efforts to achieve the conquest of our freedom and peace in the region. The solid international support given to our route has been decisive in this irreversible process to restore democracy in Venezuela'.
