Fort Worth invites residents to shape future of Butler Place

The City of Fort Worth is hosting a public meeting to gain insight from residents on Butler Place. The goal of the transportation plan is to create connectivity in the heart of downtown Fort Worth.

Why it matters: The plan focuses on working towards:

  • Enhancing the area's accessibility for all modes of transportation through infrastructure improvements.
  • Reconnecting communities and neighborhoods through vibrant social and cultural spaces.
  • Broadening the development footprint of downtown to support citywide economic opportunities.

Go deeper: The Access Butler Place Plan is part of a larger transportation planning effort led by the City of Fort Worth, which is focused on holistically addressing issues that impact the City's transportation network's safety, efficiency and connectivity of all modes of transportation. Solutions identified in the plan are critical pieces that will support City mobility priorities.

In 2019, Fort Worth Housing Solutions (FWHS) and the City led initial community engagement efforts to begin envisioning the redevelopment of Butler Place.

  • The current engagement process will build upon the previous Butler Place visioning work to include the Access Butler Place study area.
  • The process will also explore the community's mobility experiences and preferences to shape a new vision for central Fort Worth.

What's next: Join the public meeting from 4:40-7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 9, at Fort Worth Central Station, 1001 Jones St., second floor.
