Stephenson Blvd. Roadwork Project
Robocall sent 6/27/2022: Good afternoon: This is the City of New Rochelle with a roadway alert for your area. In the coming weeks, the newly-paved Stephenson Boulevard will be receiving new striping, high-visibility crosswalks and turn lanes to improve safety. Pedestrian signals are being constructed at the intersection of Monroe Street near Stephenson Park. Please travel carefully in the work area. Thank you.
Project details include:
-Re-striping of the roadway will be occurring in the near future by the repaving contractor.
-In addition to high visibility crosswalks and turn lanes, yellow left edge lines and white right edge lines are proposed. Edge lines will separate the parking and driving lanes, improving safety. Narrower defined driving lanes will encourage slower speeds.
-Pedestrian signals are being constructed at the Stephenson Blvd-Monroe St intersection under a separate federally funded project.
