Lt. Governor Burt Jones’s Public Safety Priorities Signed Into Law

ATLANTA | Today, Lt. Governor Burt Jones issued a statement on the signing of his priority public safety legislation, Senate Bills 63 and 421. Senate Bill 63 makes reforms to our bail system, expanding the list of serious offenses for which bail or surety is required. Senate Bill 421 increases penalties for the act of "swatting" and drive-by shootings.

"The passage of these bills helps enable law enforcement to do their jobs and allows offenders to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. We will not allow criminals to roam free in our streets. These bills continue our efforts to keep Georgians safe.
