Sterling Heights City Clerk’s Office releases new voting precinct map

Sterling Heights recently completed a redistricting project that has created new voting precinct boundaries for residents.

These changes stem from the new boundary maps for Congressional, Senate and House Districts recently approved by the Michigan Independent Citizens Redistricting Commission (ICRC) and the new Macomb County Commission District boundary map.

Voting precincts for most of the City's registered voters have changed as a result of this process. Residents will vote in their newly assigned precincts beginning with the Aug. 2, 2022 Primary Election.

A complete list of polling locations associated with each precinct are forthcoming by the end of May, but residents can immediately review the newly completed Sterling Heights precinct map, as well as the new MICRC and Macomb County district maps, at sterling-heights.net/vote. Each registered voter will also receive new voter information cards in late June.

"We are excited to make this new precinct map available to the public, and we ask for everyone's patience while we work to complete the next step in the process which is to update precinct information in the voter database," said City Clerk Melanie Ryska. "Each step in the process takes time and care to complete, and we take great pride in making sure all our election information and processes are accurate and safe."
