At Villa Firenze, the event “Sustainability and Energy Transition: Inclusion as the way forward to COP26”

At the beautiful Villa Firenze, the official residence of the Italian Ambassador to the U.S., Ambassador Mariangela Zappia hosted last night the event 'Sustainability and Energy Transition: Inclusion as the way forward to COP26', organized with 'Out in Energy', the Atlantic Council national network for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Intersex (LGBTQI) professionals working across the US energy and climate sectors.

The discussion was focused on the importance of diversity and inclusion in the energy sector in order to ensure a sustainable energy transition.

'The world is at a critical juncture in the fight against climate change to achieve the 2030 Agenda', said Ambassador Mariangela Zappia in her welcoming remarks, highlighting that 'joint efforts are destined to fail if we do not involve all of the social actors in the process and we strongly believe that diversity is truly essential to delivering sustainable and effective leadership'.
