On Saturday, January 25th at 12:07:32 PM Mountain View Communications received a 911 call reporting flames seen in a laundry room in a multi-unit, 2-story apartment building located in the 2200 block of California Street.
Fire units were dispatched at 12:07:47 PM and arrived on scene at 12:11:29 PM to find a fire isolated to a dryer appliance in the laundry room of the apartment building. Firefighters completed extinguishment of the flames with an aggressive interior fire attack, confirming no further extension into the building, and overhauled the area to ensure full extinguishment.
The fire was confirmed to be extinguished and the all clear was given at 12:22:52 PM. Mountain View Fire Department's prompt extinguishment of this fire saved the surrounding units in the building from the flames and smoke.
The building occupants were not displaced from the apartment complex and the fire was extinguished with no injuries.
Estimated damage to the contents and structure is $20,000. The precise cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
