Prime Minister Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama visited the isolation facility at the Adi Cakobau School premises today to witness firsthand the response efforts in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the isolation facility, the Prime Minister was briefly updated on the protocols and welfare of Fijians currently in isolation.
Prime Minister Bainimarama urged the front-line health care workers at the facility to maintain and adhere to the relevant protocols from the Ministry of Health and Medical services and thanked them for their continuous efforts and sacrifice in combating this global pandemic.
The Head of Government also witnessed first-hand the restoration works currently underway at the Wainibuku Reservoir. The damages were caused by a massive landslide at the inlet to the reservoir. The team at the Water Authority of Fiji are working tirelessly to restore normal water supply to the affected areas.
'From the Health Ministry HQ to the isolation wards and screening clinics across the country, we must contain this outbreak of COVID-19,' Prime Minister Bainimarama stated.
'It's vital that we all do our part by adhering to the best possible medical advice - we've proved before that these measures can contain this virus. Together, we can.'
