Lankford, Daines & Colleagues Condemn Democrat’s Plan to Pack the Court

WASHINGTON, DC -Senator James Lankford (R-OK) joined Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) introduced a resolution to condemn a Democratic proposal to increase the number of Supreme Court Justices on the bench from nine to 13.

'When President Biden took office he spoke on the need to unify this nation. Every action he has taken since that day has been partisan and now Senate and House Democrats have introduced a bill to add more Justices to the Supreme Court in an attempt to bend the Court to their political will. Former Senator Joe Biden, the late-justice Ginsburg, and now Justice Breyer all agreed-this is a bad idea for the future of the Court and the future of our nation.'

'The Left's attempt to pack the Supreme Court is a blatant partisan power grab,' Daines said. 'Our founding fathers created a judiciary insulated from political pressures, in part to prevent one group from having absolute power. Now, Democrats are jumping at the opportunity to pack the Supreme Court with liberal justices that will fundamentally change our country for generations. We cannot let this happen.'
