Chinese, French militaries establish inter-theater cooperation and dialogue mechanism

BEIJING, Apr. 26 -- General Wang Xiubin, Commander of the Chinese PLA Southern Theater Command, talked with the visiting Rear Admiral d'Andigné, Commander of the Pacific Ocean and French Polynesian maritime zones, on April 25. The two sides exchanged views on inter-theater communication and cooperation, international and regional security situation and other issues of common concern.

During the meeting, the two sides signed a framework document on establishment of the maritime and aerial cooperation and dialogue mechanism between the two militaries' theaters. This is a vital step in implementing the consensus reached by the two heads of state, and will help further deepen mutual trust and cooperation between the two militaries and jointly safeguard regional security and stability.
