YVSF Arrested Suspect with a Firearm in Roxbury

At about 6:30 PM, on Thursday, April 18, 2024, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested Sean Blackwell, 18, of Roxbury, on firearm related charges.

Officers were on patrol in the area of 32 Forest Street when they observed a group congregating in the area. Officers exited their cruiser to engage in conversation with the group, and observed one individual blading his body away from them.

Officers observed a weighted object weighing down the right of the individual's jacket. Officers conducted a pat frisk of the suspect and recovered a firearm from his right jacket pocket. The firearm was later determined to be a Taurus firearm with one round in the chamber and five rounds in the magazine.

Blackwell was placed under arrest and charged with unlawful possession of firearm, and unlawful possession of ammunition. He is expected to be arraigned in Roxbury District Court.
