Renovation work begins on North Walsham toilet block

Date published: 12th May 2022

This week renovation work has started on the toilet block on New Road in North Walsham.

Renovation work is being done while much of the car park is closed for work on the new bus interchange which is part of the HAZ project.

During the six-week closure period the following work will be completed on the toilet block:

  • An overall internal facelift including new flooring in line with the new Fakenham and Wells toilet blocks
  • The inclusion of a new family toilet with disabled and pushchair access

These works are being funded by the council.

The renovation work is expected to take up to six weeks to complete, during which time the toilet block will be closed to the public.

During the six-week period of renovation the closest toilet block is on Vicarage Street.

Cllr. Eric Seward, Deputy Leader of the Council and North Walsham councillor said:

"The internal refurbishment of the New Rd toilets is part of the Council's programme to improve facilities in the centre of North Walsham.

It is being done whilst the works on the new bus interchange at New Rd car park are taking place. It will mean by July that better public toilets will be in operation along with improved facilities for bus passengers".
