Millbrae City Council Meeting Recap for May 10, 2022

Following the Pledge of Allegiance, the Millbrae City Council presented a proclamation proclaiming May 15-21, 2022 as National Public Works Week.

The City Council received the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office - Millbrae Police Bureau Update.

Item 5 - The City Council approved, on a vote of 5-0, adoption of a resolution finding that the proclaimed state of emergency continues to impact the ability to meet safely in person and declaring that the City Council and City Commissions and Committees will continue to meet remotely in order to ensure the health and safety of the public.

Item 6 - Under existing business, the City Council continued the resolution authorizing the City Manager or designee to execute a revised lease agreement with Millbrae Montessori School, Inc for a licensed pre-school and early childhood recreation operations partnership at the Millbrae Recreation Center to the regularly scheduled City Council meeting of June 14, 2022.

Item 7 - The City Council received an information quarterly update on the Millbrae Homelessness Pilot Program.

Item 8 - Under new business, the City Council approved, on a vote of 5-0, to waive the first reading and introduce an ordinance repealing Chapter 6.40 of the Millbrae Municipal Code and adopting a new Chapter 6.40 regulating the use of disposable food service ware by food facilities and city facilities to align with new state laws.

Item 9 - Under new business, the City Council approved, on a vote of 5-0, to authorize the City Manager, or designee, to participate in the joint issuance with the City of Burlingame of a request for proposals (RFP) for a Bike Share Program.

Item 10 - Under new business, the City Council approved, on a vote of 5-0, a resolution committing the City to financial and legal obligations, and verifying specific information required for an application submitted to the U.S. Department of Interior, Bureau of Reclamation for the Proposed Millbrae Drought-Tolerant Landscaping Project.
