CONSUL T. BATTSETSEG MET WITH MINNESOTA GOVERNOR TIM WALZ

Consul of Mongolia in Chicago T. Battsetseg met with Governor of Minnesota Tim Walz on April 15, 2024, in Saint Paul, capital of Minnesota, USA.

During the meeting, Consul T. Battsetseg informed the Governor on the current state of Mongolia-U.S. relations, focusing on the opportunities to deepen bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, and tourism, and introduced Mongolia's tourism development policy, including the designation of 2023-2025 as the "Years to Visit Mongolia." Consul T. Battsetseg also expressed interest in broadening cooperation with Minnesota on training Mongolian English language teachers and promoting student exchanges to support the follow-up of Mongolian Prime Minister L. Oyun-Erdene's visit to Washington, D.C.

Governor Tim Walz thanked Consul T. Battsetseg for visiting Minnesota and expressed the Minnesota State Government's readiness to explore possibilities to develop ties in trade, investment, and education. He also noted his office's support of the Mongolian Consulate in Chicago in establishing connections with Minnesota organizations, including higher education institutions and business entities.
