Aiken, S.C. - The Augusta University Volleyball team placed four members on the Peach Belt Conference All-Conference team. Chloe Allen earned First Team All-Conference accolades, while Jessica Hedrick, Kylie Martin, and Nicolette Ramos were named Second Team All-Conference at the PBC Banquet on the night before the tournament.
Allen is coming off a terrific year for the Jags. The junior middle from Richmond Hill, Ga. Picked up 102 total blocks on the season and averaged .87 blocks per set, good for sixth on the PBC season leaderboards. Allen also amassed 260 kills on the year, with 111 coming against conference foes. Her hitting percentage of .250 puts her in the top ten for the conference. Allen also picked up 43 service aces and averaged .38 aces per set, putting her in the top 10 for a third category for conference leaders at fourth overall.
Hedrick completed a stellar season for her final year. The senior middle from St. Louis, Mo. Found herself on the leaderboards in hitting percentage and blocks per set. Hedrick hit a fantastic .295 on the year, good for third overall, and averaged .88 blocks per set (fourth). She also totaled 102 blocks on the season, same as Allen, while picking up 218 kills.
Martin's debut season with Augusta went exactly as hoped. The junior outside from Gypsum, Colo. Slammed home 314 kills during the regular season, with 124 of them scored against conference opponents. Martin also averaged 2.61 kills per set to just break into the top 10 leaderboards. Her kill count was also conference elite, putting her at seventh in the Peach Belt. Martin also had impressive dig totals, gathering 305 over the course of the year.
Not to be outdone by a fellow first year transfer, Ramos collected solid numbers for the season. The junior outside from Jacksonville, Fla. on two of the PBC leaderboards. Ramos was seventh overall in kills per set, averaging 2.88 for the year. Ramos also picked up 348 kills, good for third place in the Peach Belt. Ramos would also tally 212 digs for the regular season.
The Jaguars start their defense of the Peach Belt Tournament Championship tomorrow, as they take on UNC Pembroke in the first round at 4:00 p.m. at the USC Aiken Convocation Center.
