Today, Vice Prime Minister Dan Barna received H.E. Mr. Cord Meier –Klodt, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Romania

'I have told Ambassador Meier -Klodt that we appreciate the excellent level of the relations between our countries both at the bilateral level and within the EU and NATO. The German minority in Romania and the important Romanian community in Germany make a significant contribution to this development.

The economic relationship between our states is a success. We have balanced trade relations, and the German companies rank among the top foreign investors in Romania. We want these positive developments to be maintained, and to boost the level of trade', stated Vice Prime Minister Dan Barna.

The two parties addressed the issue of Romanian seasonal workers in Germany. They agreed on the continuation of last year's efforts to secure the best working conditions and eliminate any potential issues that may emerge in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Another topic of discussions was the development of vocational education in Romania, Germany's support in this respect was deemed welcome and necessary in the context of the Romanian economy's needs.
